Ruth Orr
Ballet Modern & Tap
Ruth has been dancing since the time shecould walk and attended a wide range of dance classes. At 16 she started performing professionally in The Taste of Scotland Show in Edinburgh. She has performed in various professional shows of different dance styles in a variety of places, including South America.
From 2006 – 2009, Ruth was a scholarship student on the ‘Professional dancers and teachers of dance’ course at Preston college. On this course she gained experience in dancing and teaching various dance styles including ballet, modern, jazz and contemporary.
Before and during her time at college she worked as a teaching assistant, teaching children from nursery aged to adults. It was during her final year at college that she developed a true passion for teaching and, after graduating, gained work as a full time dance teacher at Zorpas dance school in Larnaca, Cyprus.
