TEACHING UPDATES
Unfortunately I ’m very sad to advise you that Laura Wan will be leaving us this term. Laura has been offered a full time Ballet teaching position in Dulwich. I’m sure you’ll join me in wishing her luck in her new job.
On the positive side we’ll still see Laura every now and again at Summer School 2008, exam sessions and shows.
Frankie Evans will be taking over teaching ballet at Cavat on Saturdays. Laura and Frankie will be teaching the classes together on 7th June and then Frankie will take over from the 14th June.
Frankie holds her Foundation of Dance Instruction with the ISTD in Ballet and holds a CRB Police Check.
Although Laura will be missed I’m sure the children will make Frankie feel very welcome.
LAMDA CLASSES - OCTOBER 2008
It’s that time of year again to book your places for LAMDA Speech & Drama for October 2008! Lessons commence Saturday 4th October. Sylvia Barr the LAMDA teacher will be available to see anyone who has any questions on Saturday 20th September at Ridgeway School 9:30-11am.
In addition to the ongoing drama classes we will be offering LAMDA examination lessons to children in year 2 upwards. LAMDA lessons are open to all children whether or not they take drama classes.

TEACHING UPDATES
Natalie Alder returns from her contract dancing on a cruise ship and starts teaching again on Saturdays at Ridgeway School on Sat 7th June.
Paul Russell and Laura Maidment will be teaching singing alternate Saturdays at Ridgeway. Paul will be focusing more on group work whilst Laura shall be concentrating on solo voice work
SUMMER SCHOOL 2008
Summer School 2008 will be Monday 28th July – Friday 1st August from 10am-3pm, for children aged 5 and upwards. Children take lessons in Drama, Singing, Jazz, Modern, Tap & Ballet and show an informal performance at the end of the week. The cost of the week is £80 per child. CONGRATULATIONS NATALIE
Natalie Alder who teaches Modern & Tap on Saturdays at Ridgeway School. Natalie has successfully auditioned for Carnival Cruises and sadly leaves Cavat at Half Term. We will all miss her but the good news is she hopes to be back in May 2008. Caroline will be taking over teaching Natalie’s classes while she is away.

THE CHOREOGRAPHY COMPETITION
This year it will be on Saturday 24th March at 3:30pm at Sanderstead Memorial Hall, please see Caroline for an entry form. Children aged 6 years and above can enter. £3 per child entering the competition. Any children not participating are very welcome to come along to support their friends. Admission is free.
FEES FOR THE SUMMER TERM
Fees for the summer term need to be paid in one payment for this term only as there are so few lessons next term due to the shows. Please speak to Jean or Caroline if this is a problem. Please also download a diary sheet to check when classes are being held.
WATCH WEEK
There will be no Watch Weeks at the end of the spring or summer term due to the classes rehearsing for the shows.
The only exception is Roger’s drama classes on a Saturday at Ridgeway School. As the drama classes will not be in the show, parents are still welcome to watch the drama classes on the last week of the spring and summer terms.
SUMMER SHOW
There will be two separate shows this year depending on your child’s age. Whilst the show is not compulsorily for any child, please let Caroline know before the February half term if you are away for the show or would just not prefer your child to participate. Children in the show must do all performances, the exception being the 2½ – 4yr olds in the baby classes and how tired they feel.

TERM DATE CHANGES
Please note that Spring Half Term is actually 17th- 24th February and not 11-20th as previously listed.
Lessons at Ridgeway will finish on Saturday 9th December and not Saturday 16th December as originally listed due to Ridgeway School having a Christmas function. Therefore watch week will be on Sat 9th December at Ridgeway School with a charity coffee and cake sale to raise money for Tommy’s the baby charity.
CHOREOGRAPHY COMPETITION
The choreography competition will be returning due to popular demand from last year. The date is to be confirmed but it will be before we break up for the Spring Term.
CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to Antonia Sheldrake and Emily Cassie who successfully auditioned for "Sleeping Beauty" pantomime at The Harlequin Theatre in Redhill starring Peter Simon, Denise Nolan and Jacqueline Boatswain. Click here for dates they will be performing if you want to go and support them.
Congratulations also to Liberty Lilienfeld who will be appearing in the Ambi Pur advert over Christmas.
SUMMER SCHOOL 2006

LAMDA SPEECH & DRAMA ENROLMENT
LAMDA speech & drama classes commence on Sat 7th October and times will be confirmed no later than the end of September. Anyone who is new to LAMDA should have had a letter confirming a meeting with Syliva on 9th September to assess what grade to work towards.

All lessons will remain the same time and venue for September 2006, unless you receive a letter from Caroline advising you otherwise. Ridgeway Stage School Saturday timetable will definitely change. EMMA DODD & LUCY BEECHAM
Congratulations to one of our teachers Emma Dodd who has successfully auditioned for "Showboat" at The Royal Albert Hall & then goes straight into the UK Tour of "Me & My Girl" Watch this space for tickets to go and see her on tour!
Unfortunately though this means Emma can no longer teach at Cavat but we warmly welcome Lucy Beecham who will take over Emma's Saturday classes.

NOTICE BOARDS
As the School gets bigger it is vital parents check the notice boards and website regularly to keep up to date with any relevant information. Term dates, watch weeks, new teachers etc. Children who only attend Christ Church classes will be kept informed.
