Jo Bryant
Singing

Having won the Music Scholarship at Wymondham College and enjoyed a stint with the National Youth Choir, Jo read Music at the University of Huddersfield and obtained a BMus (Hons) in 2000.  Jo obtained her Postgraduate Certificate in Education in 2001 and commenced her teaching career at the Royal Alexandra and Albert School in Surrey later that year.

Jo continued to train as a singer alongside her teaching and studied with Ameral Gunson, Penny Jenkins and Nan Christie.  During this time she was lucky enough to be coached by the late Paul Hamberger amongst others and was awarded several bursaries to pursue her singing at Ardingly International Music School and Jackdaws Music Education Trust where she performed countless opera scenes, oratorios and recitals over the years.  During this time, Jo gained her LRSM - Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music in Singing in 2005 and the Fellowship of the London College of Music (FLCM) in Musical Theatre in 2008.  Most recently, Jo has been awarded a Masters degree (MMus) from Goldsmiths, University of London in Performance and Related Studies in 2010.

Jo has enjoyed tremendous success as a teacher.  She is the director of all three choirs and a Musical Theatre Academy at her school and the Chamber Choir have just been awarded a place in the finals of Barnado's Choir of the Year competition to be held in February 2011 at the Barbican.  Students regularly win prizes at festivals and vocal groups coached by Jo have been unbeaten in regional festivals since they started competing in 2005!  Jo's students enjoy a 100% pass rate in music exams and are regularly sought after to perform at concerts, weddings and events.
